Key Information

It is a nationwide program implemented in Mexico by the Ministry of Education and the UNDP. It is oriented to public high school students and its goals are to improve school climate and to promote the learning of socio-emotional skills in young students to enhance their present and future wellbeing, so that they can deal with their academic and personal challenges successfully. The program has five main components that incorporate a gender perspective and contribute to the acquisition of social and emotional skills: (1) civic engagement and collaboration, (2) gender sensitization and comprehensive sexual education, (3) sports activities, and (4) art activities and (5) health education. Construye T is a program launched in collaboration with the Secretary of Public Education. The official name of the program in Spanish is "Apoyo a los y las jóvenes del nivel medio superior para el desarrollo de su proyecto de vida y la prevención de riesgos (Construye T)" (Support for young people in the upper secondary level for the development of their life project and risk prevention).
