Key Information

Empowering Girls through Education (EGE) project, designed by Save the Children and funded by Hempel Foundation, is being implemented to address the challenges for the transition of girl students from primary school to secondary school with the necessary competencies in literacy and math. The project supported more than 12,000 girl students of grades IV and V in 120 government primary schools in Rajarhat (under Kurigram district) and Madarganj (under Jamalpur district) sub-districts. The key focus of the project was on reducing school dropouts, preventing early marriages, and promoting girls' education through various interventions such as interactive e-learning content, Learning Management System (LMS) sessions, home visits, and awareness-building activities for parents and communities on the importance of education and the demerits of early marriage. The project aligns with the goal of achieving SDG4 and is part of the Hempel Foundation's strategy of empowering children to learn.
