Ensuring quality and financing of TVET
- P Project/Program
? Activity Status: Unknown
Key Information
This programme targeted 8 public TVET centres and learners in 8 municipalities through technical and financial support to education authorities and civil society organisations to change gender norms in TVET for increased gender equality in the access to and retention of learners in quality TVET in 8 municipalities. This included improved teaching methods in professions that research of the local market identified had the potential for job creation for young women and men. A gender analysis showed that girls’ attendance in TVET centres is poor due to long and unsafe distances between the centre and their homes. Women’s groups have initiated and volunteered to contribute to the accommodation of the female learners, and the programme is supporting the women’s groups in building capacities to strengthen income-generating activities.
