Key Information
The MEERS program is a four-year activity that supports data collection, data analysis, research, training, and capacity building related to the most pressing education issues in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The program investigates ways to mitigate the effects of ongoing crises in the region and their impact on the education sector, while supporting programmatic technical needs to improve the quality and relevance of education. It gathers relevant and updated information to develop durable solutions that increase both equitable access to and quality of safe education opportunities for all children and youth affected by crisis or in vulnerable circumstances. The program also supports strategic thinking for professional development and programming, and develops and delivers training for USAID staff and partners on technical support needs. As a partner under MEERS, FHI 360 leads the design and development of education data solutions for the crises in Syria, Iraq, and Yemen, including conferences and trainings convening global stakeholders around education in emergencies (EiE) data issues and challenges.
