Key Information

The Antología Igualdad de Género en la Educación Obligatoria: Aportes para su Análisis is a publication by Mexico’s National Commission for the Continuous Improvement of Education (Mejoredu), launched in September 2024. This anthology aims to explore the relationship between gender equality in compulsory education, the reduction of gender-based violence in schools, and the process of continuous educational improvement. It aligns with the "gender equality" axis of the 2022 curriculum for preschool, primary, and secondary education.

The work comprises ten essays addressing key themes such as the importance of integrating a gender perspective into education, recognizing, preventing, and confronting gender-based violence in schools, and promoting gender equality within educational environments. The publication was introduced through a roundtable discussion involving educators, families, and educational authorities, emphasizing the necessity of collective efforts from all societal sectors to achieve gender equality in education.
