Nepal Village Foundation

Nepal Village Foundation (NVF) is a UK-based grassroots organisation established in November 2007 by Krit and Carole Sharma to improve the well-being of poor and Dalit communities in rural Nepal. Working closely with some of the most marginalised families, the organisation focuses on expanding access to education and learning opportunities for girls as a pathway to long-term social change and improved livelihoods.

Since its founding, NVF has supported a range of community-driven initiatives, with 101 girls from the poorest and Dalit families currently enrolled in regular schooling through its support. More than 690 families have benefited from its activities. The organisation works closely with 14 schools across the Bhagawatpur, Mahadeva, and Bathanaha panchayats in Saptari district to strengthen the overall schooling environment and promote inclusive education.

NVF partners with local communities to foster lasting and meaningful change, enabling families to shape their own futures and make effective use of available resources. Through collaboration, capacity strengthening, and sustained engagement, the organisation seeks to build more equitable opportunities for disadvantaged children and their communities.
