Informations clés

This transformative initiative addresses the critical gender gap in STEM education by establishing a comprehensive framework to identify, refine, and scale effective pedagogical practices in mathematics instruction across the LAC region. The project systematically investigates and documents high-impact, gender-responsive teaching methodologies that demonstrably increase girls' engagement, confidence, and achievement in mathematics—the foundational gateway to STEM careers. Through rigorous analysis of successful innovations, the initiative creates an evidence-based repository of best practices that dismantle stereotypes, counter implicit bias, and foster inclusive classroom cultures where female students can unlock their full potential in STEM disciplines.

The project's impact is catalyzed through two interconnected strategies: comprehensive educator capacity building and strategic knowledge mobilization. Professional development programs equip mathematics teachers across the LAC region with gender-sensitive instructional strategies, culturally responsive teaching frameworks, and innovative pedagogical approaches that resonate with diverse learning styles. These findings and tools are disseminated through a dynamic knowledge-sharing ecosystem including peer-reviewed publications, practical teaching guides, interactive webinars, virtual learning communities, regional conferences, and a digital repository of proven resources. By building a sustainable network of gender-equity champions and fostering cross-institutional collaboration, the initiative accelerates the adoption of successful interventions, ultimately strengthening the STEM pipeline for young women and contributing to greater gender equity in STEM fields and careers throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.
