Advocacy Initiative for Youth Development

The Advocacy Initiative for Youth Development (AIYD2) is a refugee-led organization based and operating in the Kakuma refugee camp. AIYD2's mission is to advocate and end the cycle of unemployment in displaced communities; its vision is to give access to legal documents to over 4,500 youths and build a competitive and productive refugee generation by 2030.

 

The organization is diligently working to ensure refugees have equal access to digital literacy and soft skills training. The training program includes: basic and advanced computer applications, and mobile applications, leadership, peace and conflict resolution, street business management, and improving the protection of refugees and asylum seekers.

 

Initiated in 2019, the projects have benefited more than 4550 refugees in the Kakuma refugee camp, which has led to job placement opportunities, conflict alleviation within the camp, and skill-sharing opportunities.
